This week Shauna began a new job (more to come on that later) and celebrated a birthday and Holly is preparing for a big move (same applies). With change comes an attention to the little things that brighten our days. That makes this week’s “What We Dig” even more special. Here’s our roundup!
Holly: #takeyogabackmonth. I’ll leave the explaining to my teacher, Gina, who lays it out best in this post.
Shauna: I have so much to be thankful for this week. I celebrated a birthday and started a new job! I’m thrilled about the job and am feeling very lucky for all the love and well wishes from friends and family. Shout out to Joanna for the pretty succulent 🙂
H: Minor league baseball games. If you know me at all you know I care about sports as much as Lindsay Lohan cares about underwear (that reference just outdated me a little). Anyway, this week a friend invited me to our town’s minor league baseball game. There is something so nostalgic about eating a (totally gluten filled) pretzel and hot dog while watching the hometown up to bat. It was a great way to soak up the last few weeks of summer.
S: Dirt candy. This is a vegetarian restaurant in Manhattan. Its Chef, Amanda Cohen, has developed an inventive approach to preparing vegetables that makes this place very unique – the dishes typically highlight one vegetable that is prepared several different ways. I loved the Korean Fried Broccoli and the Cauliflower dish. It was a lovely birthday dinner and I’m looking forward to returning!
H: Peaches ‘n cream smoothies. I have been all about these this week. Cashew milk, spinach, 1 peach, almond butter, vanilla and this protein powder. It’s been the perfect veggie-protein combo for my midmorning snack.
S: Blond. This is Frank Ocean’s new cd and it has been on loop in my apartment. Check it out!
