Happy Friday! Holly is back on U.S. soil as of Wednesday night and Shauna is enjoying the lovely fall weather in NYC. Here is our roundup of favs from the week.
Holly: Marshmallow root. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this herb is a powerhouse for my digestive system. Now that I am back home, I have taken it in tea and pill form and it is doing wonders for getting me back on track post travel.
Shauna: Adidas just launched a new sneaker made entirely from recycled plastic recovered from the ocean. They also made a pair of sneakers that is totally biodegradable and vegan! It is so cool to see companies incorporating more sustainable methods for manufacturing their products and I look forward to more companies experimenting with similar ideas. This is a step in the right direction 🙂
H: Perspective. If travel does one thing, it gives you new perspective on your life back home. Since my trip coincided with the election, I was reminded just how much people abroad care about what’s going on in U.S. politics. On top of that, despite how Americans feel about our country right now, there are still so many people who dream of being a part of it. I’ve always been proud to call the U.S. home, but this trip instilled another sense of pride and gratitude for my country and all of its opportunities.
S: Stand with Standing Rock. To support the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in the efforts to stop the construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline, consider a donation, signing this petition or helping to raise awareness. Check out this documentary to learn more.
H: As most of you know, Yoga Revealed is a favorite podcast of mine. Episode #5 with Rod Stryker was the perfect listen to get me back on my meditation cushion after a few weeks away. He spoke on the importance of being a dedicated student throughout every stage of life.
Have a happy and healthy weekend! See you Monday.
