Drops from the Universe

I’m not afraid to say it—I’m a fan of Train. Yes, the band. I have this memory from when I was a teenager of my Mom and I driving in the car and blasting Drops of Jupiter. It’s a great memory, brings a smile to my face every time I think of it. And, that’s a very roundabout way of bringing us to today’s topic—drops from the universe.

You know those moments when it feels like the universe is showing you exactly what you need to see in that moment? Or, when you think of something, and then you see 3 examples of that thing right in a row? That’s a drop from the universe.

Or, if you were to take the mystic language out of it, it’s simply your awareness bringing specific things to your attention. Usually your awareness grabs onto it because your inner guidance system has been nudging you toward exploring that thing.

Here’s an example. You know you want to move, but you don’t know where. Someone casually brings up California in a conversation, you think about it. Then, a little while later, you see a California license plate. You think on it a little more and then it comes into your awareness again in the form of a commercial or an article you stumble on.

You could see that as a sign. You could call them hints. I call it “drops from the universe” because it’s a way for me to recognize my thought patterns and what my awareness is prioritizing.

Just because you get those drops, it doesn’t mean that you have to follow them. It could be your awareness helping you to explore that thought a bit deeper so that you can eventually weed it out of your list of options.

Drops from the universe can also be your awareness shining light on an insecurity of yours so that you can see it more clearly.

Take the California example for instance. Maybe you’ve been insecure of your inner guidance system in the past, so instead of following it, you always chose the very first shiny option. California has never been on your list of places to move to. When you get the California drops from the universe, it’s fun because it’s a new thought, it can be dreamy to think about. But it doesn’t make you excited or eager to plan. That’s the universe showing you that you don’t always have to follow the first option—you can bypass the shiny to get to what you really want (even if you’re not sure what that is yet).

I get that this might be a little heady and hard to grasp, if you want to chat about it more reach out on email or instagram, I’m happy to explore it with you further. In the meantime, have fun with your drops from the universe. Have fun with your awareness. If anything else, bringing attention to your patterns is an interesting way to explore your subconscious and strengthen your trust in your inner voice.

Love,

Holly
