Monday Mantra: I Take Myself Out of Defense

It’s purely a coincidence that the week leading up to the Super Bowl the theme of the mantra is defense. But considering I am not an avid sports watcher and knowing you definitely didn’t come here for game advice—we’re talking defense off the field. It’s the defense that we take part in daily, without realizing it.

Friday Digs

We spent last night in a junior-high cafeteria learning how to country swing dance. You might say we danced our way into the weekend. [I couldn’t help myself.] I’m not sure what the weekend will bring, here’s to finding out.

But first, it’s Friday Digs.

Drops from the Universe

I’m not afraid to say it—I’m a fan of Train. Yes, the band. I have this memory from when I was a teenager of my Mom and I driving in the car and blasting Drops of Jupiter. It’s a great memory, brings a smile to my face every time I think of it. And, that’s a very roundabout way of bringing us to today’s topic—drops from the universe.

Monday Mantra: I’ve Got Time For That

A few weeks ago I wrote this mantra, ain’t nobody got time for that. That mantra encouraged us to drop the bull of overthinking and a constant need to please so we could focus on the good stuff—compassion for others, creativity, and self-love.

So this week’s mantra focuses on just that—time invested on self. Self care? Yeah, we’ve got time for that.

Friday Digs

Is it Friday already? This week has been totally busy but with fun projects that have left me feeling excited about the work week and not drained in the slightest. Don’t you love a week like that? This weekend I am keeping the fun going with the usual tromps in the foothills and downtime with a book and cup o’ matcha.

But first, it’s Friday Digs.

Monday Mantra: Authenticity Isn’t Perfection

Social media advice, or business advice, is not something you typically see here on GMG. Actually, this blog isn’t about me giving advice at all. Instead, it’s a place I share reflections on day to day life in a way that might help you reflect on your own day to day, too.

But here it is this week, social media—a topic that we could all stand to reflect on a little more.

Friday Digs

It’s the first digs of the year and I couldn’t be happier to say, Happy Friday to you and welcome you into the weekend. This weekend is a rare one with no plans, so I am looking forward to yoga, cooking, and downtime.

But first, it’s Friday Digs.

Winter Wellness Beauty Staples

Just over a year ago I resolved to cut out as many toxins from daily routine as possible – this included food, cleaning supplies, and beauty products. I am by no means perfect at this, but since then I’ve come to count on some healthy favorites that make me feel better about the products I interact with daily. Just as I laid out my winter wellness kitchen staples last month, today I thought I’d share my holistic approach to wellness in my beauty routine this winter.
